[Merlin has been holed up in the library since he found it, learning as much as he could about the several hundred years he was behind on. Anyone who's been there may have noticed him slowly building a fortress of books around one table, and hardly seeming to leave, to eat or sleep.

He's poked at the PORTAL a couple of times, but it's only now he finally feels ready to lift his head from updating his basic knowledge and deal with his current situation.]
