Well, I guess I should take the mishap that seems to have sent this to everyone as a cue to apologise for not making it. To the party, I mean.

I got caught up at the restaurant. And I didn't have a costume anyway.

[Plus he had the feeling he was going to be at least twice the age of most of the people there. Which would have been pretty awkward.]

That's okay. Some of my friends didn't dress up either, but it's no big deal.

I don't mind it, really, being here that is. I can see why others would want to go home though, if there's things to do, and people they miss.

I know there are people who are happy here. Although that worries me, with some of them.

Some of the dead that have appeared here. Some others. [Is he avodiing naming names? Yep, he is.] It's escapism, in the most literal way possible.

Oh, right, but I guess it's good for the people that are dead back home, right? At least they get a chance to live again. Sort of.

Maybe. It does make me wonder how exactly Promenade has managed to grab them. A lot of mythology sees death as a necessary balance. It might be the worst crime this place is committing.

[His thoughts tick over, and he smiles again.]

But that's a rather morbid topic to be straying into.

I don't know, Promenade is a strange city. It's strange though, because they're still dead back home...so I don't really get it.
