[Remus peers at the device curiously, prodding it with his wand] Is this meant to be some sort of Muggle technology? It certainly doesn't look like anything I've seen back home- speaking of, I'm really not sure where I am, except that this isn't Hogwarts. I've never read anything about failed Apparition making you end up somewhere you've never even been before - that shouldn't even be possible, I should've just been splinched. Though I'm glad I wasn't, don't get me wrong. It's the sort of thing that's quite uncomfortable.
Is there anybody else out there? James, Peter, Sirius? This really doesn't seem like it could be a practical joke.
Speaking of practical jokes, I'm not quite certain what this mask is for. [He frowns at the mask in his hand, which looks like a wolf.] Of all the things it could be, why did it have to be a wolf? [All right, he's pretty sure he knows why, but he's definitely not happy about it.]
