He throws his arms out, as if welcoming whatever he’s talking to. When he speaks, his voice is muffled, but cheerful and excited.]

[Oh hello strange projection of a person coming from his horse's eyes. You can pretty much see him waving a hand through the hologram, warily at first and then more and more excitedly. ]

It's a device that usually takes the form of something familiar that we can communicate through. Mine is a book, other people have weird things called cellphones. I guess...yours is your...Shadall, did you say? I don't know what that is.

A type of animal used for riding. Very good in the desert. But that's besides the point-are you saying you're a person? A real one, I mean. Not a mirage.

[Her own mask might make it difficult to immediately tell she is a woman, but perhaps her dark curls give her away nonetheless.]

I'm afraid I don't know what a horse is, strange projection. A common demon perhaps? The Asa Theras wasn't very clear on which ones would appear in the Great Sky.

[She's confused, but it would not be the first time she has been in a conversation where little made sense.]

An animal, not a demon. They're good companions, to some.

Then by that definition I suppose she would be a "horse". She's certainly put up with me well enough.

[There's a pause, and then his voice grows calmer]

Is it strange? Talking to Arabelle, I mean.

Ah, but Arabelle is not a pet! She is a good friend. The two should not to be confused.

I see...I agree with that, I have a friend like that too, Hunter. But what I meant is that PORTALS aren't usually living creatures.
