Does anyone know how to add color to text on the these? I can't figure it out. Maybe I should decide what color to use first...

Not particularly, no. They remind me of internet chatrooms when I was 13. Even then we had the sense to set it so people's text wouldn't get through if they used them.

A 'room', either on a website or accessed via a client, used for mass instant messaging between multiple people. There's probably a better definition than that, I didn't spend too much time figuring computers out.

Good to know it's pervaded more than one world, then. I'm sure it will sprout chatrooms at some point. Maybe one day they'll all be linked together, and we'll be able to communicate across universes.
