[The video feed turns on to display Max with a face very similar to her icon. She's wearing a leather jacket, her hair looks winded - as if she's been running and her expression is not one of joviality.] What the hell- I don't even-

[She wasn't sure where to begin. After pinching the bridge of her nose and sweeping her fringe back she gives the ( Read more... )

[Another new arrival... he's gonna give this welcome speech a try.]

Please don't panic.

You are in a city called Promenade. There are people here who will claim to know you, but you might not know them. It's best to ignore them or play along unless they try to threaten you.

This city's laws dictate that residents wear a mask during the day. There is also a strong magic that renders everyone speechless at night. Your voice will be restored the next morning, and its effects do not seem to be permanent.

There are other arrivals like you, including myself. I understand that this is a lot to take in, but remember that you're not alone.

Great. I didn't need the ass-pats, I just needed the gist of things.

So, what- it's like duality. I have a life here?

[Ky held back a sigh. Well, at least he tried. Maybe he needed to rephrase some things and try again.]

That seems to be the case. They claim that we have been here the entire time.

I agree the mirror is very weird.

From what I get of it we're in a dream world , surprisingly not substance induced and we..can't exactly get out.

You have a mask to wear outside. though I'm not really sure I want to know what happens if you don't.

Is there any specific reason for the mask? [She saw hers and she didn't like it too much. It's tucked away in her bedroom.]

You're supposed to wear it outside, I guess. If you don't,you get in a lot of trouble.

[The text scrawls as if akin to a quill dragging along parchment.]

What is it that you see on the other side?

What? Just myself- doing the things I'd normally do.

[A pause is held till the reply comes around, slowly written out--as if thinking.]

You claim that the mirror was strange--yet you say it only shows normality?

[Her own print is much the same.]

Mirrors aren't supposed to do that.
