[She can tell that he looks distressed and disoriented, just as she had when she'd first arrived. He also looks injured, and she feels the need to ask, her voice calm with a tinge of sympathy.]

Are you okay?

[Immediately, Dexter's distress disappears. His face becomes composed, and the only emotion that can be found is confusion.]

Where am I?

[Hm, it seems he handles stress well. She knows what that's like, too.]

You're in a city called Promenade. [A pause.] I just arrived a few days ago myself.

[Her brows are still furrowed slightly in concern.]

You're bleeding. Are you injured badly?

[A quick arch of the eyebrow before he realizes that, oh, he is bleeding.]

Promenade. Never heard of it. This is a dream, right?

[If I let my guard down, bad things will happen. That's what I've learned. I hope she doesn't want to play 'comfort the new guy' because I can take care of myself. She does seem nice enough, though.]

They call it the City of Dreams, but it seems real enough. Inflict pain and it hurts. Objects can be wished into existence, though.

[He seems fine, enough. Confused, maybe, but wasn't everyone who came here? She's still confused. Reeling, really.]

If you need bandages, you can just wish for them and they'll appear.

[Objects. He'll have to experiment with this later. But not now, definitely not now.]

Thanks.

[He wasn't going to risk wishing for anything right now -- something very different from bandages might pop into his mind and give him away, in the blink of an eye, if all of what she was saying is true.

He should be polite anyway.]

I'm Dexter, it's nice to meet you.

[Normally, he'd come up with some other name that had nothing to do with him, but she didn't come on to him as a threat.]

[She nods her head.]

You're welcome.

[Riza simply files the name away with a thought; she won't forget.]

It's nice to meet you, too. I'm Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye, of the Amestrian State Military.

[Though this isn't Amestris, and therefore her title doesn't really mean anything, it's still something she greatly associates herself with. Even if she isn't exactly proud of some of the things it seems to stand for, even after the coup.]

[Amestrian State Military? Suddenly, Dexter feels uneasy. He shouldn't have given her his name. At least he didn't give her his last, but still, he regrets it. His disoriented thoughts betrayed him.

Nodding with a quiet smile, he dismisses those thoughts for now. He'll remember her name as well, keeping it at the top, in case of any actual threat towards his identity.]

I've never heard of it. Where are you from?

[The fact that he has to ask after her explanation of title is more than enough proof that this man isn't from her world.]

I'm from the country of Amestris. I doubt you will have heard of it. It seems that most of us come from very different worlds.

[Now we come from different worlds.]

[He feels a bit sick after hearing this; this is a bit too much to handle.]

Have you heard of Miami? I work for the police there, I'm a blood spatter analyst.

[Why did he just tell her that?]

[She shakes her head.]

I have not. Is that the name of your country?

[Blood splatter analyst? The only thing she can think of that would even need to analyze something like that would be...]

You work in crime investigation, then?

No, Miami is a city in Florida, and yes, I do.

[Because hey, it was the closest to what he actually does.]

[It's obvious that she doesn't recognize the name whatsoever, though she seems to accept it quickly enough.]

I see. The military of my country also handles criminal investigations, though I was not involved in that branch.

I sort of doubt that your military dealt with murders that often?

There was a serial murderer who's main target was State Alchemists. And another who enjoyed cutting up women. Then, there were the killers who do so in the name of their science.

[A pause. That's nothing to say of the war. Many would consider her a murderer as well.]

They were not too terribly common, but common enough. I only knew about most of them given my position.

[Those were the kind of people that he targeted.]

State Alchemists? You're saying that, besides basic sciences, it was an actual use of warfare?
