[She wakes up with a start, rubbing her eyes and it's still pitch black outside but still...she feels like she's been asleep a really long time now. The teneka goes on without her noticing as she frantically checks at her left thigh and yep, sure enough, the brand is there.]

[The thought is soft, quiet. She lies back again, curls up with her knees pressed tight to her chest and her mind replays the nightmare that woke her up. Or at least Vanille is assuming it's a nightmare. There's a shambling monster, roaring and lashing out. A voice in her head too, repeating what could almost be a verse. And then there are little flashes. Just faces. Her being hugged by Fang, a decaying village with crumbling walls and lazily spinning wind turbines.
A blaze of light, a many armed beast and--
Her thoughts cut off and she repeats the words from her dream quietly.]

[Finally, she sits up and looks over to her PORTAL] Oh, the silly thing is on already...Um, hello, sorry if I woke anyone up but...how long have I been asleep? It feels like such a long time now. I think I might have gone home for a while because lots more things feel like they happened.
