[The PORTAL turns on to reveal Ned in the Pie Hole, working on a pie with at least five other pies on the same counter waiting to be put in the oven. Unaware of what the PORTAL was other than something like a cellular device, he had set it aside and decided to ignore it for the time being. For now, he is mumbling to himself and sighing repeatedly.
For those watching him, he may seem careless at first because of how fast he's moving, but each time he touches the pie there is an intricate delicacy, giving off the impression that he's done this so many times and for so long that everything seems almost perfect. Ned is baking out of fear and confusion, not because of happiness. Once he arrived, he refused to leave the Pie Hole, assuming everything on the outside of his shop was dangerous, it being a completely different world.
Instead of asking for help, he's baking pies.
If people are close enough from the outside, they may be able to smell a delicious scent that wafts through the doors, whereas the people watching him bake, well ...
