Okay, I can do this! Let's go fighting, me!
I'd like everyone's attention, please! I brought this up at the town hall meeting a couple of days ago, and I'd like to follow through with it now! I think Discedo should make an...
Emergency Response Team!
We all know that a lot of bad stuff that we can't control happens in Discedo, like natural disasters or weird emergencies. And a lot of the time, when stuff like that happens, we sort of scramble around, trying to make sure that everyone's okay, but usually without any organization... And while that isn't exactly my strong suit, helping people is. So, I want to do this. With everyone's help of course!
I gave it some thought, and came up with a sort of outline... If you would call it that. Like what we'll do, and some rules. If anyone's interested, or has some suggestions for corrections, please tell me! I want this to be a team effort, and really, I can't think of everything myself, heh.
1. The Emergency Response Team... I guess I'll call it the ERT for now, will mostly be active during (this is kinda obvious) emergencies. I'll think of some definitions for "emergency" later if we need to, but for now, common sense should be okay, right?
2. What we'll do is ensure everyone's basic well being. Like survival. For example... Man, I hope this never happens... If another floor in Latimir were to collapse, We would be digging people out, getting them to the hospital if they need it, and making sure everyone who got displaced has a roof over their heads, has food and water, stuff like that. That sounds good, right? Tell me if there's any sort of thing I'm missing.
3. Since it's tough to be everywhere at once, I think we should limit ourselves to the three main apartment buildings, (Horton, Marshall, Latimir) and the high school. I know that Gohl probably wants to stay to itself, so I'll respect that. And if you're living somewhere else... I don't like saying it, but you're taking that risk already. So really, if you don't live in a safe place already, you should! It would work out nicer for everyone that way.
4. I'd like to say that everyone can join, I really would! But if you've got a bad reputation, and I mean really bad, like murder or things like that, it just wouldn't be smart. Otherwise, I can find something to do for everyone who wants to join, even if your abilities are limited!
5. Speaking of abilities, it doesn't matter to me whether you have powers, or your chip out, or anything like that. Anyone who knows me could tell you that I'm totally normal myself, so it'd be dumb to base joining on stuff like that. If you want to help others, that's enough!
6. We're not gonna be like the police force (although they are really cool and nice, and you should support them!). Personal emergencies, like if someone is hurting you or stealing your stuff, or if you're being attacked by monsters, should be taken to them, not us. We probably won't be equipped to handle things like that. So trust them with those kinds of situations, okay?
7. Same goes for if you're hurt or sick. We'd be totally glad to transport you to the hospital if you need it! But we won't be able to treat you beyond like, first-aid. I think that would be stretching a little too thin.
Okay... I think that's everything as far as rules and things go. Again, if you've got anything to add, please do! I want to hear everyone's opinions on this! I'll fix it as people suggest things.
