In other news...
I have the shingles. Yay me.
Surprisingly, it's not itchy or painful. I've been using a prescription cream to ward infection from the shingles while it runs its course, and about every other day using Domeboro to dry out the blister-like things that cropped up.
It's weird having the shingles. It only broke out in a small patch near my right bewb and on a small part of my right shoulder. It put my mother in a panic because she thought it might've been MRSA or staph, since my immune system is pretty much nonexistant for the most part. A visit to the doctor proved her wrong, thankfully.
I got the shingles from my chemo treatment. It's an uncommon side effect, so it's not too much of a big deal - well, for me at least. I'm used to crap happening to me all the time now.
So, I can't go out or have people over until we find out if shingles is contagious. We'll find out after my appointment with the rheumatologist today. This appointment not just can tell us if it's okay, but if I'll be alright to have my next Cytoxin treatment on time. Shingles knocks the immune system back for a while, from what was told to me, so if I have my next chemo treatment and it's not fully eradicated, I could be in for a lot of trouble.
I'd be like that episode of Seinfeld with the Bubble Boy - living in a bubble free of germs.
