what does UCSB have that NYU doesnt?
thats right, you're favorite friend,

who will stand by you through thick and thin,

who will let you sing her fall out boy completely drunk after a wild party

who will actually learn how to clean up her stuff so you wont kill her after living together for 2 months

who will get you off of the computer and out of the dorm room to actually be social

who will be nice enough to sleep in the lobby while you bring home those surfer boys, you dirrty whore you

who will probably yet again become dr. phil to the entire floor, but you will always be the first priority

who will call when she is 30 mintues late so you dont send out a search party (again)

and last but not least, who will always have you as number 1 in her heart

karenlockeandlizzie vs the world:
new location, same great team

If you like NY so much, how come you didn't apply to the UBER TONS OF OTHER SCHOOLS IN THE CITY? There are tons of CUNY (city university of new york) schools, just choose one, man.
And there are also SUNY schools (state university of new york). . .I dunno, feels like you coulda tried harder. . .
Keep in mind, even if you try Santa Barbara, well, you could always transfer somewhere else if you don't like it, right? College isn't as final as people may think.
AND, public doesn't equate mediocraty. You can get a fantastic education anywhere if you want it badly enough. It's all about self motivation.
And with that, I shall step off of my proverbial soap-box. Feel better, you have control of your own educational experiences, never let anyone tell you otherwise. :)

umm i believe it was the fact of going to NYU and not just the city of new york she wanted to go to.otherwise dont you think she would have applied there? the uc's are some of the best universities in the world, public and private. going to a state school JUST to go to nyc is settling. and no one should have to do that

Yeah, thanks. I go to SUNY New Paltz, an hour and a half drive from the city, and I've lived here for most of my life. I could have gone to a nice, shiny private school but I figured the product of my education was greater than my need to schmooze with rich people in my age bracket.
I realize that Cali schools rawk, but I also know how much Lizzie wanted to come to NY in general. And, if you hadn't noticed, my comment did point out that it doesn't necessarily matter where one attends college, it's what one makes of the experience that counts. Which was more or less a way of talking up Santa Barbara, mmkay? ;)
Oh, and I realize that PUTTING PHRASES IN CAPITAL LETTERS may seem like I'm exasperated, but I'm just too lazy to italicize them. So I wasn't yelling at her about not looking around more, if that's what you were thinking.
