Yom Kippur is the best. Seriously.
This vacation was superlatively restorative if not particularly restful.
I am feeling so much better now. Wow. Was sad to leave home at first but now feeling like it was good that I was there short enough for it to be only excellent.
I hope everyone who's fasting is holding strong. I dont want to go to services on campus because the reform rabbi here is kind of a yutz, but I am going to spend the day inside myself thinking and writing and being contemplative and as spiritual as I know how. The physical emptiness always leads me into this unbelievably spiritual place of desperation and love and pain and wonder. Yom Kippur is so powerful, I just feel this intense amazing connection to my people and my past and my everything and its so beautiful. Its so beautiful. If there is a god, that's it.
