Just for kicks, and because I never do this kinda stuff, but this one's right up my alley:
I'm gonna choose my current six favorite songs, and then I'm gonna choose six people who are gonna tell me theirs.

Moldy Peaches- Nothing Came Out: "All I wanna do is ride bikes with you, and stay up late, and watch cartoons" *Sigh*

Feederz- Gut Rage: ( Read more... )

hmmmmm i'm going to go with six songs that I'm interested in currently because if it was favorites it would be boring or i'd get stressed out!

DNA- egomaniac's kiss I was really into this song during the beginning of senior year of high school when I only had the No New York compilation. Then I lost the cd and was really sad and when I went to visit Joanna at the beginning of the school year we went to see Q and not U and it was sort of boring and there was this neat little distro that we looked at instead of watching the band and I found the whole freakin DNA cd and bought it without question. I didn't really sit down and listen to it over and over until about two months ago and this song really stands out as an amazing track even though I already knew that. It sounds like decomposing.

Star Kings- advanced cats This is off of the Real Slow Radio Mixtape on the Fort Thunder website. I think it's really quiet and nice but not without still being badass. The guitar has an interesting almost country twang to it which is pretty cool considering one would probably call most of this music experimental and how often does 'experimental' music actually experiment with other genres? Maybe I'm making up the country twang. I dunno, shit son. Anyway, you can listen to it here: http://www.fortthunder.org/mmm/rsr-1/

Forcefield- a joby joby I was actually sitting in Yael's kitchen with Nathanial and your friend Brendan K and I put this on and it occurred to me that to other people, especially people who don't know me or any of these noisey things, this might sound a little like really bad techno, or like I am into techno as a genre. I think thats what makes this interesting to me, is the technoish repetition and obviously computer (or instrumentless anyhow) generated sounds. However it breaks down the sounds into a really pleasurable listening experience, one that I do not get from listening to techno. Maybe it just sounds like if someone took Kraftwerk, stripped them down to one member, and pushed him into the Forest of Feeling from the Carebears movie. Or took the Wind Up Bird and made him cool? Kraftwerk - all members but one + 1990's + feelings = Matt Brinkman Music? Anyway, this is also on Real Slow Radio. I'm not sure its the #1 brinkman song I'm into but it's the first that came to mind.
