Tattoos-
I have 7.5 hours of ink logged on my arm, and I am planning on going in again next week thursday for another 2 or so. The funny thing about large, detailed work is that you really stop feeling the sensation of the needle after a few minutes, so to me my sessions are more like sitting and talking with a counselor than getting ink done. My artist, Weasel, is an immensely fascinating man that has been shot, stabbed, sutures himself, broke both of his knees, was a father at 14, had a weekly grocery list that included bullets, rode in notorious biker gangs for decades, and has known more friends murdered than I have friends. He also had a stroke last year that rendered him blind for 7 months, and he almost lost everything he had worked for his entire life because of it. Did I mention he is only 50!!! He has lived enough for 3 or 4 people in my opinion, and I just wish that when I am that age I have 1/10th of the stories he has.
Soccer-
The shitty weather and constant toronadoes have caused a severe lack of soccer weather, but the last week or so has yielded to warmer temps and I have been on the pitch as much as possible. I have been playing suprisingly well considering our extreme lack of practice so far this season, and I hope my proficiency in drills and scrimmages will hold true on the pitch come game time. My $200 boots that I love to death are starting to seperate at the sole, so that means I need to buy another pair, which totally sucks, because I was in love with the fit of these shoes but they are 2 years old and can not be purchased anywhere (yes, I checked EBay!).
Lifting-
Monday will start my quest to gain some serious weight in the gym. My little bro has nothing to do this summer, so I am enlisting him as my student/training partner. He is already as tall as me, and is only 13, so I figure it would be good to get some lbs on him so he doesn't end up a lanky bastard, because nobody likes gangly white guys, nobody!
Girls-
Ha! Like anyone expected there to be anything whatsoever in this section!
Going Back to School-
This is the most hotly debated section of my life right now. My good friend Weasel thinks I am a dumbass for leaving school and that I should return this fall, no matter the price. I am starting to think that he has a good point. 2/3rds of a year off has given me a better perspective on the idea of education in general, and I am leaning more and more toward getting back to academia in some way come fall. Stay tuned for further developments.
Hibernation-
My beard and my hair both grow in extremely thick, so I am in the middle of looking like a puff-ball right about now. My beard is bushy, and my hair is getting to the stage of fledgling hockey-hair, which is painfully evident when donning a chapeau. All my co-workers are also confused as to why I am growing a beard in the summer time, and I merely respond that it is "nature's air-conditioning". Hehe.
