It might just be PMS, but I'm having a break down. It's not because of school, which is the usual culprit, but alas the age old foe: roommates. Everything was great the beginning of summer, of course, but that was because Thomas didn't live here. Chris and I had no one living across from us and we had this great bubble of privacy. Not anymore. Thomas owns the loudest music system possible. Of course. And he loves dubstep. Of course. And he only sleeps four hours a night. Of Course. Last night they had people over to play Apples to apples drinking addition, which was fine, you know. They were out in the living room, all was dandy. I go to bed around 11 cause I have an 8AM the next day and around 12:30 I wake up to bom bom bom boooooooom and a shit ton of laughter. They all for some fucked up reason decided to migrate into his room and have a chat at 12:30. This is after two days ago on Monday he had some girl over and had his fucking music going from midnight till like 2. And then during the weekends when they have people over, he takes the music, puts it on as loud as he fucking can so they can hear it in the living room. Which is down the hall and around a corner--through three different doorways. This leaves it so that Chris and I have to suffer with this loud, shitty music for hours, while they hear it at like half the volume. It's so incredible rude. And you think after telling him to turn down his fucking music over five times now, he'd get the hint. Both Chris and I are (to say the least) fairly passive aggressive. And we like these people. They aren't bad people. They just suck as roommates. Well, just Thomas. And that's the difficult part. How do you politely tell someone they are being selfish about our SHARED living space without coming off as an asshole? You can't, and that's why it's hard. Hard because I didn't think I would have to draw lines this early on. All I know is this: if I have to spend the entire year fighting for quiet, someone is going to have a broken bass speaker.
