I've been fairly care-free and happy for a while now. At both jobs I am quite sociable with just about everyone there and I believe I get along with everyone. So for the longest time things were pretty decent for me. I've always liked that quote that I used to have on an H2O shirt. It said to some extent "Though as hard as you try you can't bring me down." That's basically how I've been handling life you know? No longer afraid to be who I am and whatnot. It has worked with considerable results. However a few weeks ago I let something get to me and screw with me for a while. I'm back now, how are you? The miraculous cure was a fantastic show. Things seem so much clearer after a show. What a fine show it was too.

No Jive- a ska-punk band. Very good in a Less Than Jake sort of way.

Tip the Van- Much much better than I remember. That was two years ago though so I would hope they would.

So odd ass band I don't remember the name of. It was fucking weird, it was that guy Flood, one of the guys from 6 Under Par and a whole bunch of people you see at shows singing covers. Five singers on stage. I mean I dislike that guy Flood with a passion but this was something to see. Set list went something like this:

Song I didn't recognize
Fallout Boy- Sugar, We're Going Down
Taking Back Sunday- Cute Without the E (Cut from the Team)
Rancid- Time Bomb
Avril Lavigne- Girlfriend (girls came on stage and sung this one while her CD played)
Dropkick Murphys? Not sure if it was the Murphys because I didn't recognize the song but it sounded like them.
Blink-182- Dammit

If that is not the most perfect scene cover band ever I don't know what is.

Jet Lag Gemini- Good pop-punk like band.

Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer- Very surprised they played here and not second to last. Still rocked hard. They sound better live. New songs are great especially Can't Stand It. More and more people seem to know them each time I see them which is something that makes me happy. Plus they played Ridin' Dirty again. Great cover for them. I really want that MP3. Mad hugs and love to anyone who can get me that one.

Patent Pending- these guys made me a fan in about one song. Punk rock and highly amusing. They put the effort to involve you in the show. Just highly likable and entertaining. I really want to see them again soon. Said they would be back in the fall.

Suburban Legends- Highly entertaining as usual. Most bands seem to have a hard time playing instruments without the dance moves. They are a trip to see live. They threw in a few Disney cover songs as well. Can't wait to be king from Lion King which made me remember Laura Baum singing that when we had those class elections or senior year and their encore was Under the Sea from Little Mermaid. Never in my life did I ever think I would find myself skanking to that song. I'm glad I get to check that one off the list though.

All in all great time. It put things back into perspective for me. Back to being carefree and cracking jokes like they were eggs. Fuck people who don't want to be around me. I'm awesome times 3.

Terribly excited to see Glow Skulls, Mustard Plug and Big D now. I need to start checking local shows again more. I think I am missing out.

Oh yeah, six CDs for $30 is a deal any day of the week.
