I hate college!!!!!! You would think as much money as we give to them they would be more inclined to help their students and not be so impossible to contact!!!!!!
Okay here's the scenario: University of South Carolina...Columbia, South Carolina. Classes were supposed to start Monday, January 10th but because of the harsh snow that plowed through that day and the dangerous ice that followed, the first two days were cancelled and we had a two hour delay that Wednesday. In every university, they give the students a window of time to try out their classes and if the class isn't the right fit or if the course isn't necessary for their major, they can drop it and add another without a "W" (for withdrew) on their transcripts.
Due to the weather, they pushed back the drop/add date from Thursday, January 13 to Tuesday, January 18. My schedule consisted of two classes that only met Monday and Wednesday. I didn't have a class Monday and I attended Wednesday and the Monday before the cut off date was MLK Day so there weren't any classes. Did they honestly expect me to make a decision after only ONE CLASS SESSION!!! At least give me the fucking opportunity to have one more class session before I make my decision!
I dropped a class at the last minute last night and tried to add a course that I needed and it wouldn't let me. This morning I tried to contact that professor and ask if there was anything I could do to be able to get into her class. Her response..."as a 4th year student you already know the protocols on how to get into a class you want. You didn't make the cut off date so I can't do anything for you..." HOW MUCH FUCKING MONEY DO I SPEND EACH SEMESTER TO COME TO THIS INSTITUION...ONLY TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS!!!! I PAY YOUR FUCKING SALARY YOU UNGRATEFUL TWAT!!!!! And I've never had to drop/add a course before so no, I don't know the damn protocol!
Why does college have to be so necessary in getting a good job in the field of your choice? And why do I have to walk through Hell and back just to get one simple answer?
