I was really not going to post about this, I was really not going to...

[and who was it that said something like comment in white heat, post in cold blood?]

But seriously, I'm no voice in the fandom, I'm under no illusions; hell, people might see this and think "Oh you only want attention and you're only riding on someone else's coattails and how dare you use someone else's misery to air your own".

And this is what I'm trying to say:

I believe in you, Lucy.

Always. No matter what anyone says. I love you and I'm never ever going to take that back.

For all the good things fandom does, there are also some parts of it I can never really reconcile myself with. Others have talked about the positive points of an anon meme. I'm having difficulties processing that, however, because every time someone mentions an anon meme to me the first thing I think of is that an artist or an author is being attacked AGAIN.

And seriously, I'm hardly the only person creating fanworks who questions what the fuck it is I'm doing; I know many of my own faults and some I'll keep and many I'll try to improve upon. Tell me I could try to challenge myself writing either canon compliant fic or original fic instead of the endless spiral of AUs. Tell me my characterization of Charles or Erik or Arthur or Eames is flawed. Tell me my worldbuilding needs work.

But dear god tell me these things CONSTRUCTIVELY. Tell me anonymously if you must. But tell me constructively, because that is possible and polite and that is how criticism is done right.

mild rantage, grr
