See, I understand what you're saying, and what you're talking about is the reason I was into the "truth" movement or whatever for about a year and half. But after reading more research and reading the NIST reports it started to make more sense how the official story is not only more probable but a hundred times more plausible.

As far as I go now concerning the government's involvement is I feel that perhaps Bush and crew knew that an attack was imminent, might have know who was involved (Al Qaeda/Bin Laden) and a) didn't know what to do or b) "let" them take place so we could get more involved in Middle East politics (something the US LOVES to do). Much like how we're learning or is theorized that FDR knew Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked, but let it happen because it was the only way the US would get involved in the war in Europe.

The thing that really made me have to go "huh?" and step back from the whole thing is the amount of precise planning and thousands of people that would have to be involved in 9/11 if it was an "inside job". There hasn't been a whistler blower yet, and the only "facts" that it was the government are almost completely circumstantial. So many of the "impossible claims" that conspiracy theorists make (free fall speed, running into the pentagon at the angle it did, melting steel and so forth) are all based on half truths.

Do I think the Bush/Cheney machine were a bit shady? yes. I believe they were frothing at the mouth to get back into the middle east, but do I think they and the rest of the government were competent to pull off 9/11? no, they were just profiting off of tragedy much like many in the "truth" movement are doing.
