It's been a long time, a really long time... but every once in a while I get the itch to return to LJ and I know have such an itch. The saga of my major illness from last year is over but because my life is a never ending episode of Grey's Anatomy... I am now coming to you sick months later with a broken arm. It really sucks considering that I drive with my hands and therefore am unable to drive until the cast comes off. Imagine having your license suspended without a DUI.
Anyway, I am currently in the midst of finishing my last few online classes and working not one, but two intern jobs. I am back with the manager I was working for last fall and am also interning for one of the top female producers in town. Both great gigs! However, as soon as the cast comes off and I am able to drive again, the dreaded task of job hunting will ensue. My friends have had an immensely frustrating time and I am so not looking forward to it.
In the spirit of being temporarily "grounded" I spent the weekend catching up on some good movies. "Driving Lessons" is a must see ya'll. The film stars Julie Walters, Laura Linney and Rupert Grint. I had never seen Rupert Grint act before (I'm in the anti-HP camp) and I gotta say I was pretty impressed. Julie Walters, however, steals the whole damned movie. Loved her! And I gotta give props to Laura - her portrayal of a British evangelical Christian was hysterical. So many great one liners. The cineplex has really bored me lately though. I am going to try to hike to the Arclight and see "Evening" and "Introducing the Dwights". Evening has been dogged in the reviews, but honestly I'd go see Meryl Streep and Toni Collette holding up card board signs for two hours.
Enough for now, typing one handed is def not a picnic. Take care - more later... promise.
