Okay, so even though it's supreme nerdsville, I know the pokemon my character would have on hand at all times (At least in the beginning of his adventure :P):
Japanese name: Hiroshi//English name: Andy
Short character bio: From the wide swaths of farmland southeast of Vermillion City around Route 14, I grew up in an setting reminiscent of The American South. My mother and father were famous flying-type trainers (They used their birds to spread seed and Repel on the fields of our neighbors). I was brought up with a very strong sense of justice, and taught that determination to see things through is one of the most important lessons to master in life.
Scarlett, The Loyal Growlithe - Named after the main character in one of my favorite books, Scarlett has been with me since before the start of my Pokemon journey. She was found in the pouring rain by my father on one of his visits to Fuschia City (He was lucky to be able to see her hiding under the tree when he was so high in the sky) to pick up supplies, and he brought her to me to keep me safe at night, as I was afraid of the dark. Although she has a pokeball to keep her safe in case of danger, for the most part she follows me around to guard me (Ironically, when we're in a dangerous situation, she'll refuse to enter her pokeball in order to keep me safe).
Poe, The Serious Gastly - I didn't actually catch Poe myself, though he does have the distinction of being the first pokemon I ever battled against. I had been training for my eventual journey by doing endurance running and exploring around my own area, when I happened upon "that" house. My brothers and I avoided it since we were very little, because we had heard of the terrible things that had happened there long before we were born. I had my brave Scarlett with me though, so of course I was invincible! Entering through the front door was the only real hard part as it had rusted after so many years of disuse, and I'm certain it announced my entrance throughout the entire house. But there was no one there to hear it, so I couldn't get in trouble...or so I thought. After some careful wandering through the house I reached the attic. Scarlett, who had been very on-edge since we stepped onto the porch began growling very loudly at the corner of the attic as soon as we reached it. As far as I could tell from the quick sights that happened next, she opened her mouth to bark but was slammed into the slanted wall of the attic before any sound could come out. Whimpering, but struggling to stand up, she tried her best to protect me from an invisible foe. In the end, however, her strength gave out when I saw all of her fur get pushed backwards from a Lick, and after that I only remember blacking out. When I awoke I was safe in my bed with my older brother Will (A dietician, but a Pokemon enthusiast) entering the room to bring me some soup from downstairs. After he told me he was sent over to the house to find me by our father, he handed me a shiny new pokeball with that knowing smile of his. I knew he had gotten revenge for Scarlett and I with his trustworthy Cloyster (He's always been into swimming, and got a Shellder at the beach southeast of our house when the three of us were much younger). I wonder if that house is still there...
Taubsi, The Lordly Pidgeot - Taubsi, useful as he is, isn't my pokemon. My father sent him with me to watch over me and help me escape danger if I should ever find it. He's a very kind Pidgeot, but damn if he isn't the most stubborn Pokemon I've ever met. As he's been with my father since he was very young, Taubsi wouldn't follow my commands if I even gave him any. He does do his best to keep me safe should the going really get that tough, though! When it does get that bad, he'll usually burst out of his pokeball by his own will with a loud shriek and an immediate attack towards my foe. I know I'll come across a lot of danger on this journey, and I'm glad my dad wanted him to come with me!
If only I could find my eldest brother, Brian... He left our homestead 5 years ago after an arguement with mother and father. He took mother's Fearow, too. That Fearow always terrified me, even though mother always kept it in line with her iron-hard will.
OOC: Hope you all enjoyed that, it's probably the nerdiest thing I've ever done :P,
Andy
