Since my LJ is blank and I updated my layout so I've decided to make a post about me and Arashi:)
How I came to like Arashi
The story begins a while back when I was watching Hana Dan because I wanted to pick up Japanese. Since I heard good things about Hana Dan I decided to watch it. When I watched Hana Dan, both the first one and the sequal, I met "Domiyouji" and that was the impression that stuck to me.
Then I decided to watch another Jdrama and then I came across Yamada Tarou. I thought Nino was really cute and I started searching him on Wikipedia and then I found out that Sho was also from the same band. I also really liked the theme song and decided to look up the group who sang it. After some more research I realized that Domiyouji was in the same group and in the beginning I still kept calling him "domiyouji"...*snickers* don't we all :P
I decided to YouTube some clips of Nino and then I came across AnS (at that time, it was the infamous game with the corn starch :P) and before I started watching it, all the comments were like "I love Arashi", "They're the best boy group" and I was like this is interesting. So I decided to watch a quick AnS clip and then *bam* I fell in love with them right then.
So that's how my Arashi love began and I have become their fan ever since:) I remember watching GRA and I was like where's the 5th member, he's not here..and i realized it was the guy in the green get-up...oh..those costume people:)
Why I like Arashi
Ahhh..there are many reasons why I like Arashi and the main reason for why I like them to is because they are REAL. I think it's really cool how they can just be themselves. I mean..come on...admitting that one is an otaku, another being afraid of heights, one spacing out all the time, another being a princess, and one brining his TV remote as his cellphone...that is what makes me love them :) On top of all this, their closeness with one another ties it all up. The chemistry they have between the 5 of them is truly amazing. They each have such different personalities but yet they still create such a wonderful effect :) I love all the member ai:)
As Arashi has said, they want to break through the mold of "idol" and create their own genre. I think they have already reached this goal with the wide range of accomplishments from each of the members. I mean, no idol group has had one member opening their own art exhibition, one being a newscaster and an economics graduate from one of the reowned universities in Japan, one going to Africa to feed the lions and other dangerous animals, one going to Hollywood, and one designing the sets of their own concert. No matter how hard other groups try to replicate their member ai or their accomplishments, they'll never be in this genre. Because this genre is created and will always be solely Arashi.
Why Sho is my ichiban
Although NIno was the main character in Yamada Tarou and I was somewhat baited by him, it's Sho that prevailed XD There's so many things I like about Sho, but I'll just limit it to ten for now XD
1) the most important reason is his perseverance. The fact that he went to University while he was an idol (as if that's not enough work already) and going to not just a regular university but Keio. And he never missed a class/job and he still graduated in 4 years:) i'm proud of my boy.
2) he is both a rapper and a newscaster. and the fact that he writes his own lyrics is awesome ^_^
3) he is super cute :) and did i mention muscles :)
4) he is the mother-hen of Arashi and takes care of everyone
5) he can speak English ^_^
6) he loves kids:)
7) he can play the piano
8) he takes care of his brother and tutors him
9) the fact that he loves to eat the same things i do and he's mecha cute when he goes "umai" XP
10) he can't draw and he's afraid of heights but those are the things which make me like him even more:)
