Tricare.. Help!
I need some help here. Just as I thought the day couldn't get much worse today, I got a letter in the mail from Tricare saying I owe the hospital $2,488 for my emergency room trip at the beginning of July. That was the total cost of the trip and nothing was covered by Tricare. I'm on Tricare Prime. I didn't receive any services that I hadn't received in the emergency room before under Tricare and that was all covered. What I'm thinking (hoping) the problem is here is that they have some information wrong.
Okay, my list of charges has comment numbers by them. The first one has comment numbers 1,2,3,4 and the rest have 1,4.
The comments are:
1- Sponsor not on DEERS with the SSN submitted.
2- Visit www.humana-military and www.mytricare.com to manage your health care online. Find a provider, read your benefits information, check individual claim and referral status, eligibility and much more.
3- Have you considered using the Tricare mail order pharmacy service? It can save you up to 66% on the cost of your medications. Call 1-866-DOD-TMOPOR or visit www.express-scripts.com/tricare for more information.
4- $0.00 has been applied toward the fiscal year catastrophic cap of $3,000.00
I'm not really sure what the 4th means or why it was a comment, but on the page I noticed that for the sponsor SSN it has my social instead of my husband's. Please please tell me this is why they are saying that I owe $2,500 because I cannot afford that by any means.
