An Inconvenient Truth

Tonight, Heather and I went to see "An Inconvenient Truth", starring Al Gore. I encourage you to see it because it is a good review of a lot of the information that is easy to forget about global warming, and I learned a lot of new things from the film. It was informative and motivating, especially the before and after pictures of the glaciers, the part about the Gulf Stream, and the huge graph that showed just how much more CO2 we have in the atmosphere now than we used to, and that it is NOT part of a natural fluctuation. I do have one complaint...what was with all of the little interludes about Al Gore's life? I thought those really detracted from the focus, especially when they started showing the 2000 election footage. Sure, part of me was saying, "Hey, maybe it turns out differently in this movie!" But it didn't, and it's not going to, and he's not going to run again, so why doesn't he put it behind him? Move on, Al! I wish you had won, and, yes, most of the people voted for you, BUT you didn't, and it's over. Put it behind you and keep doing that powerpoint presentation because it reminded me what an important issue global warming is, and that the problem is getting worse and not better!

Why is my computer making so many clicking noises? It always does that.

After the movie, we chowed at Max & Erma's. Yum! I was relatively healthy except for the cookies. Then we ran into Sandy and Cherry Lynn who gave me (as Napoleon would say,) "like a finity" of posters for the Maynard Reunion.

The drive home was rainy because we are having thunderstorms, but the air felt really cool and pleasant. Tonight smells good.
