You should have read the manga....though half of it is just plain crack. But they do get together in end, which surprised me, because Eiri is still a ass.

He'll always be an ass. But that's what makes everything work. Eiri's an ass, Shuichi is overly affectionate. It's perfect. I'll be able to read the manga also. Austin has the series at home. It'll probably take me a couple of hours, but whatever, I'm running out of things to procrastinate with.
