Hello everyone!

It's been a long time since last August, when I joined this community. A lot has changed. We had a Justice of the Peace wedding over his Christmas leave, so that I can get my dependent card and get on his orders. He's in tech school at Sheppard AFB, in Wichita Falls right now, but in June we're off to Ramstein AFB in Germany.

I'm SO excited about this! I can't wait to get there and just...start living! It's going to be great. =D I'm a little scared though, obviously, because I've never lived out of the country before and I'm not sure what to expect. We've been told that once you get to the operational Air Force, it's just like a 9 to 5 job. Is that true? I'm worried about our possessions too. Matt, my husband, says we'll have a weight limit to what we can take. We have no idea what it is yet though. What worries me the most, I think, is that I have no idea what kind of housing we'll have, and if they'll provide us with furniture or anything. If there's a weight limit, I can't imagine them requiring us to bring furniture. I know there're a few other people at Ramstein here...how did this work for you? And what's the base like? It's hard to get an idea from the website...it's a bit confusing. And school? Are any of you trying to do any sort of school while away from "home"? Or hold a job?

I'm excited about going, I really am, but I'm not sure what I'll do while I'm there. I've held a job since the moment I was old enough to have one, and I've always overworked myself. Same with school. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't find a job or some sort of online classes. Does anyone have any ideas? What do you do to keep busy? No offense to anyone who's life's dream it is to be a stay at home wife/mother, (because I find that extremely admirable, I wish I could be content with that) but I would go insane with all the time.

*cough*  Sorry for such a long post.  Please comment, even if it's not related to anything.  I don't know a single other person in the Air Force, or military in general, and I would like to make some friends.  ^_^
