stupid people
Okay, so since the last entry, lots has happened with this job-thing.
First, I was supposed to get a call concerning a schedule and when to come in. However, that call just said that they wouldn't need me this week at all. Which made me really pissed, because the director made this whole big deal out of how they'd need help and would love to have me in. So I called my aunts to tell them that I wouldn't need to stay over any time soon because the day care didn't need me any time soon (they live around the corner from the day care and agreed to let me stay at their place sometimes so I didn't have to go from Western Branch to Port Norfolk all the time).
Apparently, my aunts had a little chat with the director at church this morning, because this afternoon, one of my aunts calls me. She says that the director must have "misunderstood" what I was trying to do, and that if I volunteered instead of getting paid, they could afford to have me in regularly instead of some time in the distant unknown future. She also said to expect a call from the day care tomorrow about when I should be in. Yeah. Angie's a force to be reckoned with when she's angry, and me sounding upset over the phone would definitely have made her angry with Ms. Director, lol. Gotta love her.
Now, the whole reason I wanted to volunteer there instead of working there was because I knew they couldn't afford to pay someone. Money's tight there, but they can always use another set of hands, so I figured they'd be happy to have me volunteer. Apparently, the director is just dumb as a box of rocks, though, and it took extra explaination to get it through her thick skull that I was trying to be nice and keep myself busy over break. So while I'm still pissed that it took my aunts talking to her, I am glad that this crap is straightened out.
On a totally different subject, I got shafted on my health grade. I was a point and a half from an A, the professor said she'd curve the grades, and when I looked at my final grade this morning, it was still only a B. Thanks for lying, you stupid asshole. Another point and a half in that class and I'd have a 4.0 GPA this semester.
