A Magical Adventure

So as anyone on my friends list knows, I am applying for the Disney College Program for Spring 2011 in August. Instead of starting a new blog to document this adventure which hopefully continues all the way through next May/August(still haven't decided on spring or spring advantage yet), I'm just going to use this one that I've had since summer 2004. The only entries that are going to be public are the ones about the DCP. Anything about school, friends, family, etc. will still be friends only.

I'm not sure how many people are actually going to read this but I'll just give a little background on myself anyway. I'm Emma, I'm 20 years old, and live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am currently a sophomore at Marquette University double majoring in marketing and human resources. It is one of my dreams to work for Disney full time after college and the Disney College Program is a great way to get my foot in the door. If I complete this program, I could eventually get a professional internship which could lead to a job within the company. If working for Disney doesn't work out, I'd love to work for a professional sports team as I am a huge sports fan.

My family's been taking trips to Disney World my entire life. The first trip my parents took with my sisters and me was in February 1991 when I was just 11 months old. 19 years later, we've been back 14 times. While I was still in high school/middle school and I'd tell someone my family was going to Disney World for a school vacation, I often got asked(since everyone knew my family went to Disney often) if I ever got tired of it. No, absolutely not. No matter how many times I've been there, I'm still just as excited when my family plans another trip. Every trip is magical and I want more than anything to be able to spend 5 or 7 months working at my favorite place in the world.

This internship is something I want more than anything I've ever wanted in my entire life. Even though the application won't go online until August, I'm already figuring out answers to questions that are usually asked during interviews and figuring out as much as I can about each of the roles. I want to be as well informed as possible when it comes time to interview. I'm not the greatest at interviews(and this one will be over the phone!) so the more time I have to prepare, the better off I'll be.

I'm not sure how much I'll update this publicly right now since not much is going on. I might do some more intro posts the next few days/weeks but we shall see.

PS: About the username. hahaha. I've had this journal since Summer 2004. At the time I was absolutely obsessed and in love with Jon Peter Lewis from season 3 of American Idol. If you friended me and went back and read my journal entries from back then, most of it would be insane fangirling over him(and lots of bad grammar). I have since moved on and really would like to change my username. However it costs $15 and I am unsure about whether I want to invest that much money just to change my name. And besides this one's sort of ~classic, seeing how long I've had it. I might decide to change it eventually though. I'm terrible at coming up with clever usernames though. Anyway, this may have been unnecessary but some of you may have been wondering who JPL was. haha.

I also typed this out on a whim so I'm sorry if it doesn't completely make sense.
