STEVE IRWIN IS DEAD :( :( :(

(and, incidentally, NOT by the hands of a crocodile! [yes, hands, not teeth, because it was just a matter of time before one of them was like "WTF STOP HARASSING ME!!! *strangle*"] but seriously folks...)

THIS IS TERRIBLE NEWS!!! Hence why, much like Pat Morita, Aaron Spelling, Tony Randall, Don Adams, Mary Queen of Scots, etc., it garners a "CELEBRITY DEATH"-mourning post from me. :(

Stabbed to death by a stingray. No doubt with a homemade shiv it carved out of some scrap wood. Or worse yet, a broken beer bottle!!!!! I'm telling ya' man, something needs to be done about these violent ray deaths!! First and foremost, we need to take the rap music away from them, because that's obviously what's inspiring them to kill. Second, we need instate some after-school programs to get those rays out of the water, and into some extra curricular activities. Ping pong, basket weaving, things of that nature. I think, through these steps, we can prevent future stabbings like this :(

...Yes. But anyway, booourns to this news :( He was totally insane, but that's what made him great! :D (even the thing with him and his baby, haha) I wish I could find a clip online of the first time I ever saw him, back in the mid-90's; he was a guest on Conan O'Brien for the first time (he wasn't even popular in the US, yet), and it was SO GREAT, because Conan had setup a "realistic environment" (i.e. a wading pool with an inflatable crocodile in it) for Steve to demonstrate how he dealt with the crocs, and man, he didn't even hesitate for a SECOND, he just JUMPED RIGHT IN the WADING POOL and started wrestling the INFLATABLE CROCODILE!!! hahah and then CONAN got in on the action too. Oh, it was so wonderful. I remember seeing that episode on NBC, then later in reruns on CNBC. Those were the days...

Anyway, so yes, even though I didn't watch his show on a regular basis or anything, I will miss his ZANY ANTICS. And I guess, at the very least, he got a pretty damn XTREEEEM death! Which I'm sure would have amused him, had he been around to witness his own death.
