A2A Finale
Contains spoilers, so under a cut..how nice am I?
First Sam Tyler, and now you. Why do I seem to attract all the liars and the weirdos?
....or words to that affect anyway.
Although I was pleased by the mention of Sam, WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE ELSE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN OFFENDED BY THIS?!?!
Sam was...ok, he was weird, bu he was NOT a lair, not really! Just like Alex (however much I am NOT a Galex fan), Sam cared for Gene, trusted and respected him in a way he had few other in his life...and ultimately, that relationship became more IMPORTANT than his life. Sam was only weird because of where he had come from, and his confusion as to why he was suddenly there in the 70's. And, generally speaking, he was alot more open about all of his levels of odd.
I also ended up rather annoyed that Alex seemed to have inspired such loyalty in the whole team - Ray in particular, whilst Sam only really ever seemed to have the support of Gene (when it suited, and they were just as often butting heads), Chris (on the QT, publically he would usually side with Ray) and Annie...who was a girl, and even as a member of CID she didn't seem to hold much sway.
Speaking of Annie, did anyone else find it somewhat vomit inducing that in one of the admittedly very few mentions of Sam in A2A2 involved Jackie Queen informing us that he MARRIED Annie?!
