I had the cutest day ever.
Several of them since the beginning of the summer, actually.
The First:
Driving back from TN we stopped in a reststop in West Virginia. As I was walking to the bathroom a little boy comes out of the mens room with his dad, stops dead in his tracks, looks up at me and says;
"Oohhhhhh! Awe you a twuck dwivewr?!"
I tell him no, which doesn't phase him at all and he continues as if I had said "YEP, fer fahive yers 'n' countin'!"
"Whewre awe you gooooooooohing?"
I tell him to Maine
"Reeeweee? I'm going to connenicut."
"Wow."
It was perfect.
Then there was 2 days ago down town, I was making chalk drawings and a little boy comes up and asks if he can draw with me.:
"Can I dwaaw wiff you?"
"Okay."
"I can make a weeeelleee big cirwcuw."
"And it's very blue"
"Dass my favowit colow."
"Mine is green."
"Ohhhh! JUST LIKE DADDY!"
"I't my dad's favorite colour too."
"WOW! my name is Jackie!"
"I am Laurel."
"HEY! LOOK an Air Pwane!!"
"Yeah, and can you hear the trian comming?"
"OH! MOMMY CAN WE GO WATCH THE TWAIN!?!!"
>"Sure Jackie, we can come back after it goes by."
So as I finish my drawing they come back over to say good bye;
"Wiw you come pway wiff me sometime? We live right next to the house that used to be our house!"
"Okay"
"MOMMY I FOWGOT TO GIVE HEW A HAG ANNA KISS GOOD BYE!"
So he runns back over and I get a hug and a kiss from an adorable three year old boy. It was very cute.
Sorry if it's a little hard to read but they both had that flims grasp on the nuances between R's, L's and W's that we find so endearing and adorable about young children.
