hong kong baby

well after two flights, a train ride and a taxi, i made it to the maryknoll house in hong kong in one piece. it's currently 6 in the morning but my body thinks it's 6 at night so i'm wide awake and hungry for dinner. sue and i got to the house last night and ate dinner with some other teachers and a priest. one of the girls, sophia, will be in zhanjiang with us and she's really nice; last night we stayed up talking with her and another girl and they told us about their hell week of losing her passport in a train station and waking up in a hotel and realizing that there was some one else's vomit on the bedspread. ah, china. our room has an AMAZING view of the bay and mountains in the background. when i woke up this morning there were big boats on the water and everything was covered in mist. we have until monday, when orientation starts, to do whatever we want in hong kong so i'm excited to explore. apparently there's great shopping, beaches, and the world's longest escalator. and a bar called smugglers inn which if i don't go to i think tim will have an anyuerism. alright it's time for breakfast. i love how all two of my entries already have revolved around food.
