As some of you might know, I've long been on a quest to figure out the secrets of cooking (beyond the very basics), however, I've run into a few problems:
1--It's very boring (not to mention wasteful) to cook entire meals for only one person
2--When I cook by myself, I'm likely to forget what I'm doing and wander off for extended periods of time...
While thinking about these matters I came up with a possible solution--namely hosting pot-luck type dinners every other week or so. I know that some people enjoy cooking, but lack things like a good kitchen, ingredients, people to eat all the food, etc. My problem is that I have a very nicely stocked kitchen (thanks to my cousin) but don't know what I'm doing, don't have people to eat all the food, etc. So here is my solution, every other week (possibly on the Sundays without Summerbreeze) those who want to cook claim a part of the meal (salads, main-course, dessert, etc), and they can either bring it from their place or make use of my kitchen. One wouldn't have to make the same part every time (like one week they claim the main-course, the next time, they take desserts, sometimes they do nothing, etc), We'd all get to enjoy a nice meal, good company, show off our various culinary skills, etc.
Would anyone else be interested?
