Money!
I got paid!!!
Due to my first month of work being through the UC system, which is notoriously bad about paying (last year I was paid in Oct & Nov for work I did in July & Aug) and assorted screw-ups at all possible levels (me, my supervisor who left for WI the week I started to be paid by Stanford, my boss, the new payroll officer for my building, and the person in charge of payroll for the college) after 12 weeks of work, I'm finally being paid!! A nice, big fat check which means I have enough for first & last months rent & a matress.
And Vanessa (a friend from HS) is finally back from Europe.
And there was no construction on my route from home to work for the first time in a week.
And Dee kidnapped me this weekend! (Thanks Dee!!) I had a great time at the beach (although I have never in my life been burned this badly. Idiotically, I forgot my sunscreen & didn't want to use too much of Dee's fancy sunscreen so I went too sparingly & spent too much time on my back reading so now I'm bright pink pretty much from my shoulders to my heels along my back except for where my swimsuit was).
All in all this is shaping up to be a damn fine week.
