(no subject)
La. La. La. That's about the state of my mind right now. I told my boss a few days ago that I was running out of things to do, and he said that's fine, he has alot more for me to do. But then he was out of town for a day, then mother wanted us both to take the day off to celebrate her birthday, and now he's in an all-day meeting so I have _nothing_ to work on & am sitting here wasting time, not getting paid.
Yeah, so I'm really not doing much. My mother and I wandered around SF for her birthday, and I took her out to a nice dinner, then the next day we did a bunch of house work. Last week we went to hear Sue Grafton speak - she's a very funny lady in person. I'm mostly just reading alot.
Ways I've made the stupid alarm at the library go off in the last month: 1) walking too fast through the detector 2) walking too close to someone through the detector 3) A book I bought at the library book sale was apparently not demagnetized 4) Only one of the thingy on the videotape and the thingy on the case were demagnetized 5) Not checking out the book properly - who knew that was something I had a problem with! We got new self-checkout machines, which apparently you have to be extra careful to rub the spine along the arm, which happened naturally with the old machines (I'm not a fan of the new ones - they have misc. other problems too) 6) Mystery
Yes I do go to the library that often. I like my library. I love my library. I'm just sick of the fucking alarm going off.
I'm going to eat now. Then I'm going to give up on catching my boss & go home. Then maybe the library.
