This is one of the advancements bandied about in science fiction that I would have predicted I'd never see glimpses of in my life time.
Anyway, since I've first heard about quantum entanglement I've maintain that it makes any SETI project a waste of time. Any sufficiently advanced alien race will be using quantum entanglement communication over even intrastellar distances, which would be impossible to detect (at least for us, and I expect would possibly be theoretically impossible). We'd therefore have to be within a certain range of light years from an alien race's home planet which spans the time from the development of radio to the development of quantum entanglement comm. Not very likely in my opinion.
