I experienced something this week I had never yet before: cottage cheese.

Moving on.  I watched Charlie Chaplin's City Lights (1931) last night and was amazed at the beauty of the film; to summarize the plot briefly, a homeless man meets and falls in love with a blind flower girl, who he begins to help out financially after becoming best friends ( Read more... )

I actually didn't like it.:/ It was the first time in my life I had it by itself though; maybe it will grow on me.

I'm in a southern literature class right now, and Erskine Caldwell is on our recommended list. You might also like I Am One of You Forever by Fred Chappell, Delta Wedding by Eudora Welty, and A Gathering of Old Men by Ernest Gaines.

Your camping trip sounds absolutely wonderful. To me, that's real camping. This pseudo-camping stuff at campgrounds feels so artificial...
