hello, headache.

I have crammed a month and a half worth's Spanish in my head today. Dying now. And I'm not even done! I really hope I don't blackout tomorrow. I need to pass this; I can't even worry too much whether I get a high grade or not.

But a quick help with Spanish, please?

You're going to do it great tomorrow. Good luck!! =D

About the help, the translation would be:

Gracias por enseñarnos no solo español sino también por compartir tu cultura con nosotros.

Here 'but' is 'sino' (a conj as well but with a sense of... kind of contradiction). 'As well' is 'también' only that here makes more sense if you put it not at the end of the sentence but directly before the thing you're saying thanks in this case. And 'sharing' is 'compartir', as you said, it's the correct word to use.

Again, good luck tomorrow hon!

LOL I forgot the 'tambien' in my translation. :D I...okay, I'm sorry, I should probably ask my professor instead but I'm just too curious -- how do you know when to use 'pero' and 'sino'?

Thanks so much again! You are so heaven sent, you have no idea. ♥

Don't worry, as long as you can understand my explanations I'll answer all your questions :p (I don't think I'm very good as a teacher lol)

Okay, so we use 'pero' when you're contrasting two things. For example: I want to go BUT I don't have money (Quiero ir PERO no tengo dinero.). And we use 'sino' when we want to do a direct contradiction between two things: She's not English BUT Spanish (Ella no es inglesa SINO española.)

It's slightly different but the second one is more like when you have/say something it's not right and you want to emphasize it saying the right thing directly afterwards.

LOL Sorry, I don't know if I confused you even more with my poor explanation.

Hmm, I think I kinda get it! :D I'm sure we'll touch that subject...erm, some time in the future, but I'll keep that in mind because if we have to do short essays tomorrow, I have an additional 'new' word I can use! :D

Yeah, I'm sure you'll touch that subject one day. I'm glad I helped so now you have a new word in case you have to do short essays tomorrow. I'll be waiting for you to tell me about the 'examen' tomorrow.

Again, good luck =)
