I've been busy trying to rid my computer of possible malwares because it's been really slow lately and shutting off by itself. I'm not sure if the shutting off by itself is just a problem with the fan or a worm, so I'm trying to make sure.
Anyway, I had Avast! installed and done a boot scan, found 16 trojans on my external hard drive (eww) and then on start up some crazy thing happened when I was trying to configure some of the other programs. I have installed Firefox 3.5 (is it the latest?) and have now seemingly lost all my bookmarks and add-ons. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING I CANNOT LOSE THE BOOKMARKS!!!
Also can't find my add-ons, so I'll have to reinstall those. I can't even remember what they were. :( All I can remember are the ones I usually use -- LJ/IJ login, Echofon...the one that can randomize your icons (I can't even remember the name! :( ), Greasemonkey too, I think. And I think I had Fasterfox too, but I'm not sure.
Either way, I'm still not entirely sure my system is clean and now I've lost my bookmarks and add-ons! URGH. Trying to find the bookmarks now as it may actually not be lost and hopefully they really aren't, because OMG Firefox, I think I will start hating you. IE just has a tiny bit of difference in the hate scale. =\
ETA: After spazzing for a good 30 minutes and downloading add-ons, I restart my system and re-open Firefox and everything is here. WHAT THE HELL.
