What are you hiatusing for?

That question for me, since I am rarely on anyway.

But! XD Um, my dad sent our helper away (long story -- short of it is that he had been wanting to send her away since last year, ever since she mangled the oven hood with her carelessness) so we are without a maid for a week. Mum found a new one pretty fast, thank the Lord, but she'll be here on the 24th and that is days away.

So I, along with my mum, play substitute maid for the time being, which is HARD, because dude, I/we work. There's a dog to feed and clean after, dishes to do, clothes to wash and to clean the entire house? IMPOSSIBLE. I swear. I don't know how we'll manage.

Semi-hiatus until the 24th, where I hope we are still pretty much alive.

In a totally unrelated event, I am now reading Twilight (thanks to the wonderful mellafe). I am on chatper 8 so far, and OMG, the cheese. I creeps up my skin and I feel shivers. I mean, I feel very safe with you on the eighth chapter?! Eurgh.

The banter is nice, but it loses the fire when Isabella Swan turns to a big puddle of brainless goo. I'm imagining Emily Browning as Bella...and it somehow does not work. I'm sure the girl is a good actress, but Emily has such spunk it's hard to see her suddenly going mush and spineless. Just...not working for my brain.

My mum is expecting to cook dinner; she'll be disappointed. I do a lot more walking around than she does at work! Tsch. I'm annoyed though. I mean, come on -- I've told her we can't make it work without a maid for the week!

ETA: I am on the chapter where Bella shares her vampire theory with Edward. The corny has only increased. Will this ever cease, or at least abate very soon?

ETA again...after 5 hours: Done with the book. What is with this girl?! So intent on living a life of eternal damnation because of a guy? WHAT?!? That is, beyond a doubt, utterly insensible. And to think she was being portrayed as smart.
