I went and saw Powerman 5000 and Adema at the House of Blues Saturday night. It was pretty awesome. It makes me sad every time I go to a show/concert though just to see how much the scene has changed over the years. The crowds that go to these shows don't even really know how to feel the music. They have the chics that go there trying to meet guys and go dressed all sexy and get pissed when a good pit breaks out because you bumped into them or messed up their hair. Ya know, I worry about my hair sometimes, it's natural, I'm female. But when I go to a good rock or punk show, I got expecting for my hair to get fucked up, because to have a good time and feel the music and just let it flow through you, it's going to fucking happen. Then you have these guys that think moshing is fighting and wrestling. They make me fucking sick.
But anyways, back to the band reviews. I never was one that really liked Powerman 5000 enough to go and buy a CD or anything, but figuring the lead singer is the brother of the frontman from StaticX, I thought that the band would have a lot of energy and get a good crowd going. Needless to say, they were a huge let down. I was highly disappointed.
Adema came up after Powerman 5000. I had only heard a song or 2 they play on the radio, and they sounded like they were cool on the radio, but not enough for me to go buy a CD. Well ladies and gents, they blew me away. The completely took the show. Johnathan Davis's step brother has some energy and knows how to work the crowd. The band gave so much energy I couldn't stop moving. They sent me straight back to highschool. I trashed and moshed and just went purely crazy. It felt so good. I felt high off of them for the rest of the night. I never expected what that band gave me. I didn't know what hit me. I will definately be buying their CD very soon. So much feeling and emotion went into each lyric and each chord, each drum stroke. I definately felt them, and it's rare I feel a band like I felt these guys. I was a pure sweat ball by the end of the set. I highly recommend everyone see this band live at least once.

CONCERT ANNOUCEMENT!!!!
VOODOO FEST (aka The Voodoo Experience)
October 31st through Novemeber 2nd
I don't know every single band that will be there yet, but this years Voodoo Fest has been deemed the best ever by 106.7 the End. This year, Voodoo Fest will not be just one measley sweaty day, BUT 3 ACTION PACKED SWEATY DAYS!!! I am appropriately stoked. I already have my pit buddy lined up, my old friend George (from highschool) that I bumped into at the Taproot show on the first of this month. We're going to get all freaked out for the weekend, for old times sake.
The bands that I can remember thus far, (I keep forgetting everyone, and I won't find out Sunday's lineup until after 5:00):
Z-Trip Adema Mindless Self Indulgence Fuel Godsmack Rabbit in the Moon 50 Cent Marilyn Manson Staind Better than Ezra
Uggghhhh...that's all I can remember.
You can always watch for the lineup on the Voodoo Fest website. The website is www.voodoomusicfest.com
I'm so overly excited it's pathetic. I'm going to try and take pictures this year. I'm like a giddy little catholic school girl on the way to an all boys school.....oooohhh, I can't wait. I've already put in my vacation request.
