Excerpt:
“A curse,” agreed Mordred, moving closer to his motionless prey. A ruthless, hungry fire was burning behind the dark green of Mordred’s eyes. The man was a hunter by nature. Daniel could see it in his every motion, like a lion before a wounded animal that he could take down in one blow. Two steps more and Mordred was right in Daniel’s personal comfort zone. They were the same height and neither could look down on the other because of it - not if Mordred didn’t force him on his knees like Morgana had.
He wasn’t expecting the sudden hand in his hair, fisting and tugging at blond, messy locks, and he stiffened reflexively. Mordred began chanting under his breath and Daniel - Arthur - felt his eyes grow heavy. When it was over, Arthur collapsed, boneless without the aid of magic, to the ground. The last words he heard before his consciousness bled into empty night were the ones he would forever be haunted by. “Arthur Pendragon, you will never be able to forget your sins.”
