BSG: WTF?

 Before I go into my weekend, a question: why is Battlestar Galactica so popular? We netflixed the first DVD - a miniseries thing - & watched it last night. We gave up after a couple hours because it was lame. Really tired sci-fi cliches, bad acting, bad scripting, and as melodramatic as any daytime soap. Oh, and completely humorless. Really? People love this? Please explain.

Maybe once the series starts it improves? Maybe?
