It has become strikingly clear that something is wrong with the college admissions process. Why are Elk Grove's best and brightest (not just me - all of them) getting turned down from schools they're clearly capable of attending? Is it because we don't have the opportunities provided by elite schools like, say, New Trier or Wheaton North, so we therefore demonstrate apathy and incompetence? Is it because we're not as poor as students in the Chicago Public Schools and therefore 'don't have the resources'?

There is no hope - for us, for them, for anyone. Nothing makes sense anymore.
On the plus side, I have a TI-Nspire now! The screen's a little rotated - not enough to impact my use of it, but enough for me to notice and be pissed off.
