I handed in my (sole) Grad School application today, that was a weird feeling. Hopefully I'll get in. I've got it pretty good with the guy who makes the decisions, but there are two other people applying too and he only gets one. If I don't get in then I think I'll still have a job for the summer and maybe a part-time job next year too, both as a lab assistant where I work now.
My classes this semester have been pretty good. French is the exact same as last semester, which is good because I liked it then. Formal Semantics is rough but only because I put off the absurdly long homework sets until the night before and I'm up 'til 5 finishing them every time. Good thing about that though is that there are no tests in that class and I do well on the homework sets. Formal Foundations of Linguistics is really interesting, with applicable skills that could easily lead to a job. Psychology of Language is much better than I anticipated, with a lot of reading but pretty easy workload otherwise.
I haven't updated in forever? I read the Fountainhead over winter break and it was really good, though I think I liked Atlas Shrugged more. Now I'm reading The Professor and The Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and The Making of the Oxford English Dictionary whenever I have free time (which isn't very often). What I've read of it has been pretty good though.
Graduating is going to be weird, all 4 of my college friends will be all the way in/around Boston while I'll be back in West Springfield.
Not much else to report. There's a pretty and interesting girl in my Psych of Language class who I've been doing a great job ignoring for the past month. I should stop that.
Right now my main goals are to 1) say something, and 2) work really hard on the things for my lab to further impress the guy who runs everything
