Should use Sculpey with some aluminum foil for a base so they aren't too heavy. Though that said, these look pretty cool and look like they'd work. But how will you attach them?
I didn't think about the aluminum foil thing -- I didn't use sculpey because it was more expensive. What I figured is I'd attempt to reshape them somehow to fit a headband. I would've done that but for reasons beyond my control, I didn't have one.
If this fails I will probably redo it with aluminum foil + sculpey. The aluminum foil doesn't interfere with the curing process?
My car's cooling system had a major leak. We're looking at $1200 worth of damage. orz
The event is C2E2 -- chicago's comic convention!
Penguicon, other than Linux stuff, is mostly about completely random sci-fi/fantasy things. The anime part of is barely present -- in the past it's been like, a screening room. They have a masquerade/costume contest (Tron Man originated there, actually), I went to a Rocky Horror showing there, but if I had to guess, I would say there probably really aren't any anime/goth/lolita people there. Although, apparently there IS a drag show.
I may be going because Brandon Sanderson (replacement Wheel of Time guy) will be there, and it has kind of become a semi-regular event for Ziba and I to go to...if he's free this year.
I don't know Wheel of Time. I was more asking for a friend who's publishing a post-apoc novel who was talking the other day about maybe checking that out. Are there steampunk people there at all? Was it you that was telling me that it's basically one big swinger's party? lolol
I know you know Wheel of Time, but anyway... yeah, it would definitely be steampunk friendly (I met the Dresden Codak dude there once) and definitely post-apoc novel friendly. Dunno if there will be a lot going on for either of those things specifically, but there will be writing sessions and so on.
I was telling you that there is this one skeezy linux dude who is basically a Linux celebrity by association, and that HE is behind any sort of swinger contingent there is to the convention. But then again, every convention this guy goes to becomes his attempted swinger party with his wife.
Man are you actually thinking about going to Penguicon?? WHO ARE YOU
Oh, wait, that novel series? The guy died and they got someone else to replace him? Sorry, I blanked cuz I never read them, just saw them on your shelves for foreever. ;) XD
Hahaha I thought I remembered you saying that. Haha I thought it was the Linux people. Nice. ><
NO I AM NOT. I WAS ASKING FOR A FRIEND. FOR A FFFFRIIEEENNNDDD!!!
Yup that's the series! It will finally be over in 2012, thanks to this guy who is actually doing a really good job!
Yeah, the dude is a creeper and pretty much lame all-around. Not that I have anything against swingers, but this guy also happens to be an anti-Muslim libertarian nutcase.
lol ok...i was wondering if I'd have to start going to Neo on weekends just to balance the universe out. XD
Eh, Neo's not all that crazy. But it's not very inviting either. Haha if you ever make it out to Detroit on tour again and you wanna see a good club, you ought to come to City with me. I feel like somehow it might be easier now in some sort of backwards strange way. But it could be fun. I think you're more open to the music than you used to be and you could enjoy it. City is super inviting too and there are tons of people who could share interests with you. XD
My dislike of goth clubs was never about the music (I like the music, although it's not like, music I love soooo much I can't help dancing), but it was always about the intimidation. I always felt a little out of place there, like I was being constantly judged. Of course that's just my paranoia, but that's how it was. I'd probably still feel like that a little going to Neo by myself...having a guide always helps!
I'd love to bring the band to City...Lucas would be fine, but to see the look and Matt and Mike's faces XD And hey, everything's happy underground!

It seems like it'd be much harder to reshape them once dry to fit the headband...shoulda done it with the headband already there! Silly!
