A few mornings ago,
mr_illuminated was just waking up but I was heading to bed (opposite schedules; I'm up all night) and we spent some time cuddling before he got up for work. He had watched me get undressed, and when I crawled in bed beside him, he enfolded me in his arms and said, "I really love your thighs." I scoffed, since I have SEEN my thighs. I told him I thought they were gross. He ran his hands down them with a smile and said, "Oh no, they're the best thighs ever. One day I'm gonna take my silver marker and make you a blue ribbon to prove that they're the best thighs ever." I rolled my eyes and kissed him and he got up for the day.
I hadn't thought about it again until tonight when I was sitting at my computer and he came up from the basement with something behind his back. "Close your eyes," he said, so I did, and he gently moved my hair off one shoulder and pressed something against me. "Okay, you can look now," he said, and when I looked down, this is what he had pinned to me:
He smiled and said, "I told you I would. You didn't believe me." I laughed and hugged and kissed him. He's such a sweet guy.
Today's our 16th wedding anniversary, and you can see we're just as silly and loving as we ever were. I'm so thankful I found a man like him.
Happy anniversary, hubby! :)
