I. AM. HOME.

I've missed you all! A week and a half with no computer is too long. I had no LJ for all that time -- no email or ANYTHING. I barely survived.

::clasps computer to breast adoringly::

::sobs::

travel, thankful, livejournal, trips, lj friends

YAY! I am welcomed back into the fold!

::snuggles in with satisfied sigh::

:D

It wasn't bad as trips go, but I'm just exhausted and even though we've stayed longer before, this time just took so much out of me. :P

I'm glad to be back, hon. :)

Don't you hate it when you come back from a supposed holiday more tired than when you went?

Yeah, and it always seems to work out that way. :P

Oh well, at least I got to lounge in my sister's pool for a few hours today. Finally. :/ Just before it rained. Stupid New Orleans and its 95 degree F weather in 94% humidity. Bleh.

Pool is good... that weather is just... bleh.

It's fucking freezing here today (well, okay, not quite that cold, but it's cold for us)

How cold is cold for you? o_O

Somehow, I knew you were going to ask that! It went down to 9C last night, which is... *hauls out the calculator* about 50F, and it got all the way up to 16C (roughly 64F).

It's bloody cold when you stop and consider these morons think insulation is when you build with double brick walls and central heating is unheard of!

Okay, what I keep wondering about your country is why in hell the folks there don't seem to have a clue how to install central air conditioning and heating, or to think them mandatory, when it regularly gets both hot and cold enough to need them. It just makes no sense to me. You people are miserable in both winter and summer, and yet nobody thinks to modify housing accordingly to fix this situation? What gives?

Not only that but most places don't have flyscreens on their windows. I mean, what's up with that? You can have your windows open just about all year long and you don't put flyscreens on the windows... with flying fucking cockroaches???

I tell you, these Aussies are seriously fucked in the head.

Maybe it's that old pioneering spirit that tells you that you have to rough it, but it's the 21st century, dammit, I am not a rough it kind of girl!

Now that's just inexcusable. If you have no AC, you MUST open your windows, and there are most DEFINITELY bugs in Aus. WTF? Ridiculous.

Yep, they're all just full of the ridiculous.

I made hubby put flyscreens on the windows here. There is NO WAY IN HELL I am sharing my living space with bugs that are big enough to eat you! (well, not really, but you know what I mean)

Definitely. My first apartment had floor to ceiling windows that opened onto the balcony and had no air conditioning, and I nearly died between the heat and the bugs. And it was right under a giant oak tree full of flying cockroaches. ::cringes and dies at memory::

AAAACKKKK!! That sounds like my own personal version of hell. *cuddles you*

the floor to ceiling windows sound very nice, but... flyscreens people, flyscreens. They're not that expensive!
