2009: The review

January
The year started off once again in Newport celebrating with Andy's family and friends. Later on in the month, my Mum and Dad came to see our new house in Bath for the first time and we introduced them to Greggs, the Hare & Hounds pub and Bradford-on-Avon.

February
The country had lots of snow, for the first time in years. Lots of days out were spent exploring more of the surrounding area - including Lacock village, the Cotswolds and the Mendips.

Antigua, April.

March
I started my current job, something I had been looking for for a little while which would help me progress in the right direction. Met up with my family for a day of walking in the Quantock hills and a curry in Taunton.

April
Easter was spent in Wales, which was also Andy's birthday. Took a trip to the Wye Valley. At the end of the month we jetted off to get some much needed sun in Antigua, where we had a relaxing break, ate a lot of yummy Caribbean food and took in the sights of the island in a rented 4x4.

The Mackerness' wedding, May.

May
Another trip to Wales for Claire (Andy's Sister) and Ryan's wedding. Finally traded in the Polo for a new(er) Astra, life was then much safer on the roads!

June
I passed my probationary period at work. Had a weekend away in Oxford and days out exploring Castle Combe, Biddestone and other nearby places. Helped Claire and Ryan move house and had a trip to the seaside at Clevedon on possibly the hottest day of the year.

Farleigh-Hungerford Castle & Clevedon, June.

Brecon Beacons National Park, July.

July
Popped over to Bristol on a couple of occasions - for St. Paul's carnival and some epic queuing for the excellent Banksy exhibit in Bristol museum. Spent a slightly rainy day in the Brecon Beacons photographing waterfalls and finally visited the Thermae Spa, after 2 years of living in Bath. July was also my birthday and my family came to stay the last weekend.

August
Saw the Sound of Music at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff, spent time with Andy's family and met up with my Sister whilst there. Spent a weekend at a gorgeous spa hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon and visited Warwick Castle too. At the end of the month we went to Iceland, which is such a fascinating country and saw so much in the time we had.. waterfalls, glaciers, geysirs.. the lot!

Prior Park Landscape Garden, June & Westonbirt, October.

September
A month of new things; I started driving with Andy as my instructor, very scary but I'm getting there! I also began my ACCA accounting course, travelling to Bristol one day a week for classes. Had several barbecues at home in the late summer sun and one weekend Julia and Laurence joined us.

October
Saw Joseph at the Theatre Royal in Bath, spent a day at Westonbirt Arboretum and started playing squash more. At the end of the month we had a few days in not so sunny Cornwall with my parents.

Stratford-upon-Avon & Warwick, August.

Iceland, August.

November
Back from Newquay and off again to Wales for my Sister's and Chloe's birthdays. Met up with my old colleagues for Fajitas and a catch up.

December
Had a few days off work for revision and exams, trying not to think about them again until next month when results are released! Went on a night out for the first time (about time!) with my new work mates and had a couple of Xmas parties and a lunch. Spent Xmas with my family in Cornwall and the second half of the holidays in Wales with Andy's.

It's only when I see things written that I realise how much I did. It makes me all the more excited for this coming year and intrigued as to what I will have done and achieved by the end of it!
